On Wednesday evening, joyful faces shone brightly through the driving rain in Cần Thơ, Vietnam. More than 900 people responded to the Good News on the final night of the two-day evangelistic outreach in the Mekong Delta.
Advent means “arrival,” referring to the arrival of Christ into the world more than 2,000 years ago. As we near Christmas, we’re reflecting on how certain people in the Bible responded to the birth of the Messiah, with passages taken from Will Graham’s book, In the Presence of the King. This is week 2.
The people we see in the Christmas story experienced things that were never seen before and have not been seen since. In this time of Advent, we’ll look at some of these Bible characters, studying their responses to the birth of the Messiah and how to apply lessons from each to our lives today.

Will Graham talked about one of the most recognizable symbols in the world—the cross—during the two-day Grande Prairie Look Up Celebration in Canada. On the cross, he said, “Jesus accomplished the greatest act of love the world had ever seen. He died for your sin and my sin.”
