As churches worldwide navigate their post-pandemic reality, many pastors and leaders desperately need encouragement.

While the pandemic undoubtedly opened new opportunities for digital outreach, prolonged restrictions on in-person gatherings came with repercussions that left many churches permanently changed.

When churches did reopen– whether after weeks, months, or longer – many people simply didn’t return.

Even as life returns to normal, many congregations continue to experience declining attendance, and leaders are struggling to engage their members to participate in church life. Volunteer teams have dwindled, and some churches have seen significant staff turnover. Key areas of church ministry, including evangelism, have suffered.

But the Gospel has not lost its power – and Christ has not lost His love for all people.

After serving as Billy Graham’s executive assistant for many years, David Bruce is aware of the challenges of ministry—and he’s encouraging church leaders to stay committed to their callings during evangelism summits across Canada.

Recognizing the immense challenges that churches face in a post-COVID world, the Billy Graham Evangelical Association (BGEA) has been offering opportunities for pastors and ministry leaders to recharge and refocus, believing that revival will return as the Gospel message is preached boldly and without compromise.

In 2021, BGEA held four evangelism summits across the United Kingdom with the aim of encouraging the church and stirring up renewed passion for sharing the Gospel.

Attended by almost 2,000 pastors and church leaders, the one-day events in Glasgow, Liverpool, Cardiff and London featured powerful times of corporate worship, fellowship opportunities, and plenary sessions with leading Bible teachers from around the world. Participants left challenged, encouraged and inspired to share the good news of Jesus in their communities.

Rev. Banjo Oluwatula was one of them. Describing the event as being like “a fueling station”, the veteran 18-year pastor from Newcastle, England, ended the day feeling supernaturally recharged. “I’ve got enough spiritual energy to make me keep going,” he told a member of our team.

This year, BGEA is offering pastors and leaders across Canada the opportunity to refuel, too.

We are excited to be holding evangelism summits across Canada this fall – in Calgary on Oct. 13, Halifax on Oct. 18 and Toronto on Oct. 20.

The summits are free of charge and include lunch. You can register quickly and easily on our website, where you will also find more information about the summit and our speakers.

Dr. Charles Price, a pastor with The Peoples Church in Toronto, is one of the keynote speakers. Dr. Price will be joining other outstanding, seasoned leaders from Canada and around the world who are passionate about equipping and encouraging churches to share the Food News of Jesus. Worship will be led by Brooke Nicholls, a Juno-nominated Canadian recording artist, author and speaker.

“Difficult times are the best times for the Gospel,” Dr. Price says. “Certainly the world is insecure at the moment. And insecurity means people look for security, and Christ is a way to find that.”

We are excited and expectant for the Holy Spirit to move and to inspire fresh boldness for evangelism in hundreds of attendees.

Will you be one of them?
