4 Ways to Share Your Faith With Others

Telling others about Jesus Christ isn’t just a suggestion; it’s a command to those who follow Him (Matthew 28:19–20).

Sharing how Christ is transforming your life—and about the hope you have of eternal life—can change their lives, too! It can point them to real, lasting peace.

1 Peter 3:15 says, “Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.” Here are tips to help you prepare for sharing your faith in a loving, effective way:

  • Try to memorize some Scripture so you can quote it with confidence. Here are a few to start with:

“… For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God …” —Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” —Romans 6:23

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” —John 3:16

  • Pray for people who might not have a relationship with Christ. Spend time with them and ask God for opportunities to share your faith with them.
  • Look for opportunities to mention Christ in conversation. You might ask, “What do you think happens after death?” Listen to their ideas, then share what you think.
  • Invite your friends to church or a Christian concert, or start a Bible study. Going to church can help teach you how to share your faith. If the person you’re sharing your faith with doesn’t live nearby, share this online church locator to help find a local church.
