“God’s up to something really wonderful.”
Those words, from Kelly of Prairie College in Alberta, identified the optimism felt among most of the 500-plus church leaders and everyday Christians attending a Canadian Evangelism Summit.
After several years of division and challenge, he noted that “there seems to be a renewed energy” amongst congregations and believers.
Kelly brought 10 students to the Summit from Prairie College, most of them studying in youth and pastoral ministries. “I needed to bring my students to the summit to spark evangelism as a central component of their faith,” he explained. “I wanted to be inspired and have my students inspired.”
Eliana, one of those students, was glad she attended because “I’ve been involved in evangelism before and it’s exciting to learn more. I liked the seriousness of all the topics; I don’t hear a lot of speakers who understand the depth of the need for evangelism.”
Alongside Evangelism Summits, many Canadian believers are equipped to share their faith through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association Christian Life and Witness Course. These lessons are often taught in the lead-up to a Franklin Graham or Will Graham outreach.
Marilyn was among those who attended the Christian Life and Witness Course taught in British Columbia’s Thompson-Okanagan region this year. “I’m here because I want to share Jesus,” she said.
She joined hundreds of believers to be equipped and encouraged to share their faith ahead of the Look Up Tour with Will Graham this past October. “The course helps alleviate the mystery of evangelism,” said Bryan, another believer whose church hosted the first Christian Life and Witness training. “It helps people realize they can do it.”
“I’ve been nervous about not having the right answers when sharing Jesus,” Marilyn shared.
Marilyn surrendered her life to Jesus Christ at a Billy Graham Crusade in London, England. She attended because of the influence of a Christian doctor in her life and the invitation of a local church.
Today, Marilyn is praying for her children and grandchildren who need Jesus. She also invited them to join her as Will Graham preached the Gospel in Kelowna, British Columbia.
