I read somewhere that there are approximately 6 billion people on earth. How can God ever keep track of all of them and what they are doing? I just can't imagine that God is interested in what happens to every one of us. He's too big to worry about us, it seems to me.

One of the greatest truths of the Bible is that God is so great that He knows everything about us, and He is concerned about every detail of our lives.
Jesus said on one occasion, “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows” (Matthew 10:29-31). If God even knows how many hairs we have on our head, then He knows everything else about us as well.
Instead of being too small to know all about us (which is what you are actually suggesting), God is so great that He can keep track of every concern we have. As the psalmist wrote thousands of years ago, “O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar” (Psalm 139:1-2). God is so great He knows the smallest detail!
But I want you to know an even greater truth: God loves us, and He cares what happens to us. How do I know this? I know it because Jesus Christ came down from Heaven and died on the cross so we could be forgiven of our sins and live with God forever. Why not give your life to Christ today?
