Celebration of Hope is a ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to all we can by every effective means available to us, and equipping others to do the same. The ministry culminates with a two-day celebration on November 12 & 13.
A Will Graham Celebration is much larger than the few days of the actual event. Everything begins with an invitation from local churches that are praying for their city. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada responds by providing evangelism and discipleship training for all ages.
In addition, the association works with Christian leaders and volunteers behind the scenes to prepare the way for the Celebration and to bring churches together in unity.
Long after the “main event” is over, participating churches carry on the work, discipling those who came to faith in Christ during the Celebration.
7 Ways a Will Graham Celebration can benefit you and your church
Will Graham has spoken to audiences across North America, Australia, India and other parts of Asia and South America.
Without prayer, we could not survive as Christians, nor would we ever hold a Celebration. Every aspect of the Celebration directs believers toward prayer—determined, heartfelt, ceaseless prayer.
2) Evangelism Training
Many committed Christians have never shared their faith because they don’t know how or they are afraid. The Christian Life and Witness course (and a youth-oriented version, called FM419) trains Christians to effectively and confidently present the Gospel. The classes also prepare believers to counsel people at the Celebration.
3) An Action Plan for Witnessing
A further step is taken when Christians put their learning into practice through Bring a Friend.Participants identify, begin praying for, and develop or deepen relationships with family and friends who need Christ and then invite them to the Celebration to hear the message of salvation.
4) Engagement of all Ages
From children to seniors, there are many opportunities for all ages to confidently participate in evangelism through Celebrations.
5) Spiritual Renewal
Nothing is more exciting than personal spiritual renewal, and renewal in the church. By helping prepare for the Celebration, bringing friends and family to outreach events, and worshiping with other Christians, renewal is sparked in individual lives and in congregations.
6) Christian Unity
The church is never stronger than when it is united with one goal. The goal of the Celebration is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, bringing Christians together from many denominations. Lasting relationships and bonds are formed that leave a legacy of churches working together in the community.
7) New Christians in Local Churches
The Celebration process is designed to assimilate new believers into churches where their spiritual growth is encouraged. New Christians sharpen the church and add vitality to congregational life and worship.
