How can I break through my husband's shell and make him see he needs to give his life to Jesus?

I'm thankful you want to see your husband come to Christ; not only does he need Jesus for his eternal salvation, but he would be a better and happier person if he had Christ in his heart. Jesus said that when we trust Him "your joy will be complete" (John 16:24).

At the same time, I hope you will reconsider how you are approaching your husband about this. Frankly, constantly talking with him about his need of Christ and even arguing about it may only increase his resistance. In his mind, he probably thinks you're only trying to win an argument with him–and that seldom works. You don't need to keep reminding him of your convictions; he knows what you believe, and he knows also that you think he is on the wrong road.

Instead, pray for your husband, and ask God to help you be a Christlike example to him–an example of Christ's love and patience and joy. Does he see Christ in you? Is your life a living demonstration of Christ's power to change a person's life?

My wife used to say that more flies are caught by honey than by vinegar. Ask God to help you be like honey to your husband, not vinegar. The Bible says an unbelieving spouse "may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives" (1 Peter 3:1-2).
