Q:

Does God always judge people who are evil and deliberately do wrong?

A:

God is holy and just -- and yes, those who deliberately turn their backs on God and choose to do evil will be judged by Him. The Bible says that anyone who ignores God "is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves" (Romans 13:2).

This doesn't mean, however, that God always brings His full judgment to bear on them right now. Outwardly, some people seemingly live a trouble-free life and never experience anything we might think of as God's judgment -- although they flaunt God's laws and disobey Him at every turn. But down inside, their lives lack meaning and their hearts are empty -- and this is one sign of God's judgment. They also go through life (in the words of the Apostle Paul) "without hope and without God in the world" (Ephesians 2:12). This too is part of God's judgment on them.

But even if their lives have been free of most troubles, some day they will die and enter eternity -- and there they must face God and His judgment. The Bible says, "For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body" (2 Corinthians 5:10).

The good news of the Gospel, however, is that we don't need to fear that day -- and the reason is because on the cross Jesus Christ endured the judgment and Hell we deserve. Have you put your faith and trust in Him?
