The most important thing I can tell you is that God doesn't want your walk with Him to be like this. A marriage that's constantly up and down is unstable and unsatisfying -- and so will be our faith.
Yes, you may be more inclined than some people to be like this -- but don't use this as an excuse, or assume that your walk with God must always be like this. God loves you, and His desire is that you grow stronger in your faith and live constantly in the light of His love and truth. The Bible says, "Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in his ways" (Psalm 128:1).
How can you get out of this pattern? First, saturate your mind and heart with the Word of God, the Bible, every day. God gave the Bible to us so we could know Him and His truth. Make the Bible part of your life every day, and when times of doubt or discouragement arise, learn to pray, and to put your trust in the Bible's truth and not your feelings. God has promised, "I, the Lord, speak the truth; I declare what is right" (Isaiah 45:19).
Then ask God to guide you to a church where you won't only feel at home, but you'll begin having fellowship with others who can encourage you. We need other believers -- and they need us. The Bible says, "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Proverbs 27:17).
