Why do you believe death isn't the end?

I believe in life after death first of all because down inside every one of us senses that this life is not all, but there must be something more. We can suppress this or convince ourselves it isn't true—but even then we wish it were. Where did this inner feeling come from? It came from God, who planted it in our hearts. The Bible says, "He has also set eternity in the hearts of men" (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

I believe in life after death also because of God's promises. From one end of the Bible to the other, God makes it clear that we weren't made for this life alone. We were created in the image of God—and because of that, we were created for eternity. Jesus promised, "In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you" (John 14:2).

But the most important reason I believe in life after death is because Jesus Christ died and rose again for us. Why did Jesus die? For one reason: to take away our sins so we could go to heaven. He rose again from the dead to prove beyond all doubt that there is life beyond the grave.

The greatest hope any person can ever have is the hope of heaven—and this is what I pray for you. God loves you; He loves you so much that He sent His Son into the world to take away your sins. Don't let another day go by without Christ. He alone gives us hope—hope for life right now, and hope for eternity.
