Did you come to faith in Jesus Christ through the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association?

November 10, 2014

Calgary, Alberta – November 10, 2014 – At least 19 million people around the world have responded to the invitation to commit their lives to Jesus Christ through the ministry of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association (BGEA) during its more than 60-year history. Knowing that thousands of those people are living in Canada, BGEA of Canada is launching an initiative to learn about and share their faith stories.

Tell Us Your Story is a new Internet-based initiative from BGEA of Canada that invites everyone in Canada who has committed his or her life to Christ through a BGEA event, radio broadcast, TV program, or other ministry to contact the association through a new website: BillyGraham.ca/yourstory.

There, Canadians can share how the ministry of the BGEA helped lead them to a faith commitment. BGEA will receive submissions and, with the approval of the originators, share some testimonies at BillyGraham.ca and in BGEA’s monthly Decision magazine.

The BillyGraham.ca/yourstory site, which is being publicized through social media and online advertising, also has free downloadable resources that biblically explain to Canadians the value of sharing their faith stories, and helps them to do so with colleagues, family members, friends and neighbors.

Matt Baker is a Canadian with an inspiring faith story. A self-described “punk kid who did drugs,” Matt attended the 1995 Billy Graham Crusade in downtown Toronto, learned of God’s love and offer of forgiveness through Jesus Christ, and came away a Christian. Now he is a youth pastor who helps other young people come to faith in Christ. Matt also oversees a local food bank.

“Testimonies like Matt’s can encourage all of us, and inspire us to share our stories of coming to faith in Jesus,” said BGEA of Canada Executive Director Fred Weiss. “BGEA is about proclaiming the Good News that Jesus brings us, so we want as many Canadians as possible to tell us how God has been using our organization to change lives.”

The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada, established in 1953, partners with churches and Christian communities across Canada and worldwide to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ in word and deed. Through relevant language and methods, we share the saving message of Jesus to spiritually searching people of all ages and cultures. To learn more, please go to BillyGraham.ca.
